Using CatDV on Mac OS X
(A) If you are on a Mac OS X Computer with either Final Studio 3 , FCP X, Compressor 4, or Motion 5:

  • .MXF file support needs Calibrated{Q} MXF Import. Final Studio 3, FCP X, Compressor 4, or Motion 5 comes with Apple's ProCodecs that will decode the video in the MXF files. To decode the video in proprietary AVID video .MXF files, you would need the Avid LE QuickTime Codecs
  • XDCAM EX .MP4 file and XAVC-S .MP4 file support needs Calibrated{Q} MP4-EX Import. Final Studio 3 , FCP X, Compressor 4, or Motion 5 comes with Apple's ProCodecs that will decode the video in the XDCAM EX MP4 files.
(B) If you are on a Mac OS X Computer WITHOUT ANY VERSION of Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Studio, Compressor, or Motion:
  • Sony RAW and X-OCN .MOV files file support needs Calibrated{Q} Sony RAW Decode Decode.
