Same here just stopped working on both firefox and chrome on Oct 2 9:50 am on ubuntu 16.04. That was working by all means hosting a webex or joining including w/video and sound no issues prior to that timeline. I wasted quite some time it fails with same message however that was not the case before. Nothing has been added or removed or altered up until today.

Microsoft Windows 8 or Later (32-bit/64-bit)

To allow easier upgrades in the future, rename the firefox directory (e.g. To firefox-44.0.2), and add symlinks for Firefox and the JRE: the script I'll include below assumes respectively webex-firefox (pointing to firefox-44.0.2 or whichever version you have) and jre1.8.0 (pointing to jre1.8.073 or whichever version you have). I have had exactly the same issue on Windows 10 and Windows 7 using Firefox 57. The issue is not just with WebEx, the same happend using Windows Remote Assistance so I don't think this is a Cisco issue. 1/30/18, 2:50 PM. Quote; It looks like the fix for this issue in testing with coworkers is to disable hardware.

Cisco Webex Extension For Firefox

Known issues and limitations:

  • In some versions of Linux, users must proactively install and activate the “OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, Inc.” plugin in order for the video, call my computer, and content sharing features to work in Firefox.

  • Content sharing does not work in Linux versions that use Wayland as their display management system (such as Fedora 25 and later), due to an issue with the WebRTC screen sharing API.

  • Sending and receiving video does not work in Fedora 28 due to an issue with the H.264 codec.
